International Deliveries

Commercial international deliveries have always required careful preparation in order to ensure a smooth passage for parcels and pallets through international customs. Post Brexit this is proving even more crucial with deliveries into the EU. If you are planning any international deliveries or collections, especially into the EU, we recommend contacting your carrier as early as possible, so that there is plenty of time to gather the required information ahead or arranging the transport.

The key things to know about your consignment are:

  • An accurate description of your goods and their commodity codes. You can search for the correct commodity codes here - https://www.gov.uk/trade-tariff

  • The value of the goods

  • Do the goods require insuring?

  • Who will pay and duties or taxes that may become due?

  • EORI numbers for the sender and receiver (EU only). Some countries in Europe that are not part of the EU do not require this. To learn more about EORI number and how to obtain one visit here - https://www.gov.uk/eori

  • Contact details - email and phone number of the sender and receiver as customs and/or carriers may use these if there are any queries about your delivery and they are not very proactive in reaching out if they don;t have the info

We’ll cover some of these aspects in further posts but in the mean time if you do have any questions, please get in touch and our team will do their utmost to help.
