Delivery vans to use bus lanes for Christmas?

Due to the ever growing volume of parcel deliveries leading up to Christmas, it has been suggested that delivery vans be allowed to use bus lanes to help them meet this increasing demand. The benefits are seen as two-fold, firstly to give drivers more options to complete their delivery routes and secondly, it will help reduce the amount of delivery vehicles in the normal lanes. The latter could likely make things easier for other road users in this generally busy period on the roads as a whole. If trialed and successful, it is hoped that it will become an annual tradition!
